High School Specialty Programs

Prince William County Public Schools offers high school students specialty programs, career and technical education programs, Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC), The Governor’s School at Innovation Park, and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

The applications found on this page are for students interested in applying for one or more of the following specialty and CTE programs:

AP Scholars, Agriculture, Auto Technology, The Center for Biotechnology and Engineering, Cambridge Programme, Center for Fine and Performing Arts, International Studies and Languages, Environmental and Natural Sciences, Information Technology, International Baccalaureate Programme, Project Lead the Way-Biomedical Sciences, Television Production, Cabinetmaking, Cyber Security, HVAC, Plumbing, Electricity, and Welding.

The following schools and programs have a limited number of seats available in their programs for students wishing to transfer. These programs will conduct a lottery to determine the students who will be approved for transfer into the program:

Forest Park - Information Technology
Patriot HS - AP Scholars, Building Trades

Battlefield HS will be closed to student transfers.

All other specialty and CTE transport programs have a different application process. CTE transport programs include Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, and Practical Nursing.

Students who live in Prince William County must apply by February 1 of the year before entering the program. This due date also applies to students who live in Prince William County but have not attended Prince William County Public Schools. This includes students attending private schools and home-schooled students. Students who move into Prince William County may apply to the program within 60 days of registering to attend Prince William County Schools.
